Obituary of Helen M Parsons

 

Helen McCunney Parsons, age 97 of Linwood, NJ, formerly of Collingdale, PA, passed away at Brandall Estates, Brandywine Senior Living facility on December 21, 2018.

Born on October 25, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, she lived in Philadelphia, Chicago, Indianapolis, IN and Collingdale, PA, graduated from West Catholic Girls High School in 1939 and worked for ACF  Brill & Co., and Rohm and Haas, Co. until retiring in 1976. Helen was a devoted member of St. Joseph parish in Collingdale, PA for over 63 years before moving to NJ.  She served on the board of elections in Collingdale for over 40 years.

Survivors include Helen’s daughter, Constance P. Wickersham and son-in-law James J. Wickersham, and son Richard D. Parsons, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cheri Parsons.  She has 5 grandchildren: James, J. Wickersham, Jr. (and wife Sydney), Andrew J. Wickersham (and wife Cathy), David J. Wickersham (and wife Kelly), Lindsay Fuller (and husband Justin) and Ashlee Voshell (and husband Jaret); and 9 great grandchildren: Abigail, Meghan, Maxwell, Nathan, Emmi, Kaci, James III, Ethan Voshell and John Fuller, and two step great grandchildren: Nathaniel and Samantha Trejo.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard D. Parsons, her parents Richard and Helen Mc Cunney, her brothers Richard and Joseph and her sister Ruth Moffitt.

 A Mass will be held on Thursday December 27, 10:30am at the St. Joseph Church, Collingdale, PA. with a visitation beginning at 9:30. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name and sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
