Obituary of Julia Manitta
Manitta, Julia M., 87, of Margate, passed away peacefully at home, at the Margate Terrace, on November 8th, 2018. Julia was born on September 15th, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to Giuseppe and Antoinetta Chironno. At the age of 8, Julia lost her mother, and it was then that Jeannie Bo took her into the family where she met Dolores Mosca, who was like a sister to Julia. She then became known as ‘Aunt Julie’ to the Mosca family. She was a seamstress and a contributor of the Ministry of Motherhood, and a member of the Ventnor City Nutrition Center, where she met lots of friends. She married her husband John Manitta in 1961. After he retired at the early age of 50, they traveled often. After her husband passed, Julie spent the last 10 years close to the Mosca family and has made so many friends that are her family now. She is predeceased by her parents, husband John Manitta, and most of her brothers. Julia was a breast cancer survivor for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Natalie Marie Contento’s goal to raise money for Susan G. Komen, at http://www.the3day.org/. A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday, November 14th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, at St. James Church, Ventnor. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
