Born and raised in Philadelphia, he graduated from Cheltenham HS and Gettysburg College where he played football and basketball and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Ellison Fraternity. Commissioned in the US Air Force, he served as a Navigator with the Strategic Air Command (SAC), an Intelligence Officer with the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio and as an Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of ATIC. Honorably Discharged in 1957, he began his business career in sales and marketing management working in the packaging industry with such companies as International Paper, Brockway Glass, Klearfold Box and Hemingway Corp., specializing in cosmetic and HBA markets.
He retired in New Jersey with his deceased wife Judy, and is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia Hoffman and Lynne Roselius, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Charles Bade. He enjoyed golf, boating and fishing, and had a love for animals, especially his two Golden Retrievers, Rusty and Lucy.
