Obituary of Wayne Musial
Wayne Musial, who spent many of the best days of his life at the Happiest Place on Earth is now in the Happiest Place not on Earth. Wayne (aka Uncle Buck, Mr. Disney) gave credence to the idea that those who pass away on their birthday are said to have led a perfect life (just ask William Shakespeare). And so on September 17, 2021, on his 65th birthday, Wayne came full circle and was surrounded by his loving family in Ocean City, NJ.
Wayne was living the dream with his wife Laurie (Galetto) for just under thirty years. He loved his children John Musial and Sara Musial (engaged to Zach Robins) and Rachael Musial and her husband Brynen Sosa and their son, Ryder, who was his favorite little guy.
Family was an essential part of Wayne’s life. On the Musial side, Wayne is now joining his dad and mom (John and Shirley) and reliving the joys of his days growing up in Drexel Hill. He is survived by his brothers Bob and his wife Linda, Gary and his wife Maureen, and his brother John Scott.
Uncle Buck has a huge following on the Galetto side of the family, as well. He is reunited with his mother and father in-law, Lou and Doris Galetto and has probably already engaged in some construction project with Dad. His in-laws are Dr. David and Mary Galetto as well as Kevin and Luanne Corcoran. His many nieces and nephews: Matt and Katlyn Galetto, Brian Galetto (Bailey Fulton), Hamilton and Lauren Hudson, Steven and Fallon Corcoran and Nicole Corcoran (engaged to Stephen Gallagher). On the Musial side, he was just as loved by his nieces and nephews, including: Chris Gerlufsen (Ila Gombar), Jamie and Jon Olek, Ryan and Kristen Musial, God Son Andrew Musial, and Abby Musial (Evan Ward) were all his biggest fans. There were many other close relatives and friends that have had a special place in Wayne’s heart.
Professionally Wayne (as he would say) Sold Drugs (aka Exec Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medi Media) but he was also a Mr. Fix It, helper to the farm workers, magician, comedian, and fashion model (especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas), amazing dad, loving husband and great friend.
He practiced what he preached because he lived every day as what he would call another ‘beautiful gift from God’. His sense of humor was sharp but rarely biting and he always saw the irony in life. Toward the end of his life’s journey with cancer he wrote about the challenges he faced so that others could learn from what he endured. He was never without his sense of humor and his ability to give joy to others.
The Family would especially like to thank Wayne’s favorite two Dr’s, (Dr. David Galetto and Dr. Kush Sachdeva) who fought long and hard for Wayne and his quality of life. Not to mention the office of Southern Oncology-Hematology Associates, who always had big smiles for Wayne as they welcomed him every week.
The Family will privately celebrate his life at a later date, when we are ready to laugh and raise a glass to Wayne. And in the meantime we ask that you raise a pint of Miller Lite, and honor a man whose Point of Brew always remained half full.
Donations in Wayne’s memory can be made to Give Kids the World Village.
Give Kids The World is a nonprofit resort that provides cost-free vacations for critically ill children and their families. Here, these children and their families get time away from hospitals, doctors and treatments. For one magical week, the 84-acre, storybook Village becomes a home-away-from-home for wish children.
