Obituary of Richard j Brady

Brady, Richard j. cherished husband, father, and pop-pop of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021, in his home surrounded by the people who loved him and those he loved the most. He will forever be loved and respected by those fortunate enough to know him as RjB, Pop, or more recently “The King”. Richard was born April 17, 1943, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late Francis X. and Ann (Walsh) Brady. He was 13th child and is survived by his sisters Joan Picillo and Genevieve Jones along with countless nieces and nephews. Richard served in the United States Army for 20 years including two tours in the Vietnam War, receiving multiple awards including purple hearts, bronze medals, and a silver star. He retired from the United States Army as a Sargent Major in 1988. Richard most recently worked as a Team Leader in the Superior Court of New Jersey for the last 20 years working under many well-respected Judges. A special mention to the Honorable Judge Ridgeway and the Honorable Judge Siegel. Richard’s whole world was his family; everything he ever did in his life was to make their lives better. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Anna Brady who was his forever love, his adoring daughter and son in-law Kimberly and William Howard, his grandson Christopher Spalding who he was beyond proud of all his accomplishments and his granddaughter Meagan Joyce who lit up his world every day. He is also survived by his extended Italian family, the Barbera-Letizia Clan, especially his honorary grandsons, not of the blood but of the heart, Santino, Vito, and Lorenzo. He will always be remembered by his sense of humor, his love of sports (Go Eagles), his life lessons, and his love for his family. We thank him for all he did for his family, community, and country, and we invite all those that knew him to a visitation that will be held 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, followed by a service on Friday, September 3, 2021 from at George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Rd, Linwood, NJ 08221.
