Obituary of Daniel Ian McGhee
Daniel Ian McGhee, 34, of Ventnor City passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 8th. Born January 7,1987 in Galloway, New Jersey. A life-long resident of Ventnor, graduating Atlantic City High School, and earning a BA degree in Communications at Coastal Carolina University. After college, Danny was employed as a manager at the Port O’ Call Hotel in Ocean City. While caring for his father, he became immersed in pursuing a career in the medical field. Dan became a certified medical assistant and was employed by Rothman Institute. He was loved and respected by all of his colleagues.
Recently, he returned to school to pursue his true calling as a registered nurse. He was accepted to multiple accelerated nursing programs and decided upon the University of Rochester which was to begin this Fall. Danny's dedication, compassion, and devotion to his family was undeniable. He was kind, humble, witty, and loved nothing more than tending to his family, friends, and anyone in need. He was our angel on Earth. An avid golfer in high school and college who excelled in the sport. A lover of all teams Philadelphia, but the Eagle’s was always his number one. Dan's sense of humor and easy going temperament was just a small part of his magnetic personality, everybody loved Danny.
His passing will leave a great void in our hearts, but his legacy will live on in all of us. Survivors include his mother Joanne, his brother’s Ryan (Karen), Michael (Dawn), his sister’s Kelly (Lisa) , Shannon (John), his nieces Alexa, Olivia, Maggie, Sophia, Lauren, his nephew Jack, his Aunt Judy and Aunt Nancy, and countless loving family members and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. at George H. Wimberg Funeral Home,1707 New Road, Linwood and again at 10am, Wednesday July 14th at the Margate Community Church, 8900 Ventnor Avenue, Margate City, followed by an 11am service. Burial to follow at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery, Egg Harbor Twp.
