Robert S. Rodriquez, of Northfield, passed away on Friday April 2nd, following a brief illness.
Born in Somers Point on April 17, 1970 Bob was raised in Linwood, graduated from Mainland Regional High School in 1988, and eventually settled in Northfield. Bob loved being outdoors. He had worked on the grounds of several golf courses, and most recently for his brother-in-law as a heavy equipment operator. An avid gun collector, he loved to spend his weekends duck hunting and fishing on his family pond.
An athlete throughout his life, he loved and played many sports, with football being his biggest passion. While he was an extremely talented player in his younger years, his true gift was in coaching. He was a mentor, a role model, and made a lasting impact on the kids who were fortunate enough to call him “Coach Rod”. Off the field his greatest pride was in his nieces and nephews. He was a devoted uncle who’s love and support for his family knew no limits. He will be missed beyond words by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his siblings Jack Darrell Rodriquez Jr., Theresa Rodriquez and Sandra Fraser (Casey); nieces and nephews Sara and Sean, Nina and Trevor, Sonny and Laurel; great niece and nephew Troy and Gia; and by his father Jack Rodriquez Sr. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Rodriquez. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Northfield Cardinals c/o the Family Association of Northfield @ P.O. Box 723, Northfield, NJ 08225.
