Obituary of Dolores M. Needham

Needham, Dolores M., 92, of Margate, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, she was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Delaware with a bachelor of science in Education in 1949.  Dolores was a career educator  influencing the lives of  many students over numerous generations. She loved being a teacher and taught 3rd, 5th and 7th grade.  In 1974, she earned a Masters Degree in Education from Glassboro State.

Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J Needham.  She and Fred loved the city of Margate and were honored to be entrusted with educating its youth. Both of them were doting grandparents and lived for spending time with their granddaughters.

Dolores was an avid bridge player, a voracious reader and a world traveler during her retirement years. She loved pampering her dog, Maggie, and spending time on the beach.

Dolores was a warm, compassionate and loving mother and grand-mother.  She will be greatly missed by her daughters Marylou Kwart (Edward), Susan Dugan (James), grand-daughters Marie Sedberry (Charles), Lauren Kwart, Kathryn Kwart, Jim Dugan (Stefi) and Jason Dugan (Alicia). Dolores was the proud Great Grandmother of David, Adeline, Isaac and Nixon.

A special, heartfelt thanks goes to the staff at Linwood Convalescent Care. The staff, along with Hospice, were always there to give comfort to our mother when we could not. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to Serenity House, 56 Georgetown Road, Bordentown, NJ 08505.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th, from 5-6:30pm at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Rd., Linwood. Mass will be held the next day, Saturday, February 6th at 11am, at Holy Trinity Parish: Epiphany Church, Longport.
