Obituary of Joseph R. Wasikowski

Wasikowski, Joseph R. "Bob", - Bob passed in peace at the age of 82. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Wasikowski (née Muir), his four children, Joseph Wasikowski (fiancé, Joyce McCann), Linda Bloomer, Michael Wasikowski (Bernice), Elizabeth Argentiero, and two beautiful granddaughters, Abby and Jane Argentiero. He also leaves a sister, Joan LaSalvia (Frank), as well as many other family members and friends who will sadly miss his big smile, the stories reminiscent of his past, and overall good-hearted nature.

Bob grew up in Germantown, PA, proudly served our country in the United States Army, retired from Ford Meter Box Company after 37 years, and thoroughly enjoyed the summers of his retirement working at Blue Heron Pines and Hidden Creek Golf Club. Bob loved food (especially all the things he wasn't allowed to have). He tried out his new recipes on his family and looked forward to his daily trips to ShopRite. He enjoyed countless hours of crabbing and fishing in the bay with his buddies (coming home empty handed most of the time) and was forever awaiting the "big win" at the Atlantic City Casinos. However, Bob will be forever remembered for his unwavering devotion to his wife, Beth, and his unconditional love for his family. He was proud of his children, adored his granddaughters, and was a good friend to all, always putting everyone before himself. He went out of his way to help...nothing was ever too great or too small.

The family would like to thank all his health care professionals and are sincerely grateful to those who comforted and cared for him in the last few months of his life. Although our hearts are heavy, we celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us. "We will love and miss you until we see you again". In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.fundraising.stride.org "Remembering Bob Wasikowski"

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6th, from 10-11am at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood. Burial will be private at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
