Ralph DeCarlo, 80, known lovingly as Cookie, of Ventnor City, passed away after a battle with brain cancer at Shore Memorial Center on Wednesday July 8th, 2020. Cookie was born on January 24th, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He met his future bride, Mariaelena in childhood, and they were married on October 1st, 1960. Ralph is known for working at Bally’s Park Place as a slot attendant in June of 1988. He was beloved by many throughout his life and career until retiring as an executive slot marketing host in March of 2006. Cookie loved holidays with the family and movie nights with Chinese food. He had a passion for automobiles, a love for Frank Sinatra, and a sharp sense of style which will always be missed. He is preceded in death by Mariaelena DeCarlo (April, 1997), and is survived by his only son Nicholas DeCarlo, daughter-in-law Agnes DeCarlo, grandchildren Andrea and Samantha DeCarlo, and great grandchild Kota Perez. Cookie was laid to rest (beside his loving wife Mariaelena) at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing on Tuesday, July 14th, in a private ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
