Phillis, Louise, 100 years old, of Somers Point, passed away on January 26, 2018
Louise was born December 1, 1917 in Hammonton and graduated from
Hammonton High school in 1936, she also resided in Bridgeton, and Pleasant Mills. She worked as a Book Keeper for her father's car dealership, P.T. Ranere Inc, until her retirement. Louise was also a devoted member of St. Joseph's PTA, Woman's Civic Club and Soroptimist club. Louise was an avid and creative baker, making beautiful desserts using decorative flowers. She loved to entertain, always having gatherings for her large family, and many friends. Louise also enjoyed spending many winter months in Florida with her family and friends.
She was an avid Pinochle fan, and had weekly card parties most of her adult life. She was a classy woman, who loved life and was a "Can I help you?" person up until the end of her life, she lived for her family.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Carol Byrne, and Mary Lou Martin, brother, Peter Ranere, Jr., grandchildren, Jenna Byrne, Nick Delucca, Lauren, Suzanna and Mike Martin. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Carly, Nicky, Lana, Fin, Jennica and Ian. Louise was preceded in death by parents Peter and Mary Ranere, husband Jack Phillis, Siblings, Charles and Nick Ranere and Marie Kern, Memorial contributions may be given to Journey Hospice, 6712 Washington Ave, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 7th, 2 pm, at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Rd., Linwood, with a visitation beginning at 1pm.
