Rowena Stinson

Obituary of Rowena Stinson

Stinson, Rowena Elizabeth “Renie”, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 8, 2018.  Born the first day of spring, March 20, 1926, Renie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, John, whom she has finally gone to meet.  She is survived by her son, John (Debra, deceased); daughter, Stephanie; granddaughters, Jessica (Nick) Czechowicz, Stephanie (Jared) Comstock; step-granddaughter, Caitlin (Dave) Schoonmaker; and great-grandchildren, Calvin Stinson Comstock, Macey Ann Comstock, and John Douglas Czechowicz.

Renie was a force to be reckoned with, full of joy and laughter.  Her family was absolutely everything to her, as were her cherished friends over the years, old and new. Nothing was ever too much trouble for a friend in need.  She will be terribly missed by all but the love that she put into this world will be in the air around us always.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, family, friends, and four-legged friends, who assisted and visited her in the last few years since she lost John. Renie loved the beach, spending decades at Lafayette Avenue shifting with the sun and enjoying the ocean, always saying “the longer you’re in the water the warmer it gets!”

Friends and family are invited to call from 9-10am on Saturday, January 13th, followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Parish: St. James Church, Ventnor.
