Obituary of Lois Zondlo
Zondlo (nee Kellett), Lois Eleanor, 79 of EHT, passed away on Sunday, October 1st at the Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.
Lois was born and raised in Fallsington (Bucks County), PA, on February 7, 1938, to Dorothy Adele (Enslin) Kellett and Albert Edmund Kellett. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Dorothy K. Scully of Manahawkin; and her brother, Albert Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Fl. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph F. Zondlo, whom she loved and adored, and who will continue to love and adore her always; and her loving son, Zachary, whom she loved with her whole heart. He was her pride and joy.
Lois is also survived by three sisters, who thought she was just the cat’s meow- Rev. Kathy Kellett Chiovitt of Fallsington, PA, LaVerne K. Walters of PSL, FL, and Christine K. Raczka of Lancaster, as well as 14 nieces and nephews.
Before graduation from Pennsbury H.S. in Makefield, PA. Lois was a gymnist who won many medals. She excelled at field hockey and to this day holds records at Pennsbury H.S. Lois loved music. In her early career she was the accompanist for the U.S Steel Choir. When she married Joe and moved down to the Jersey Shore area, she joined Central United Methodist Church and quickly joined the choir. She continued her membership at Central to this day, and continued to sing with the choir there. She also sang with the Masterworks Choir for many years, which choir accompanied Pavarotti at the A.C. Convention Center. She considered this one of the highlights of her life.
Lois just loved dogs, especially her Rottweiler, Kia, who she always said “Is My Heart.”
Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 7th from 1-2pm, with a service beginning at 2pm, at the Central United Methodist Church, Linwood. Burial is private.
