Obituary of Joseph Franco
Joseph E. Franco, 83, of Ventnor died May 23, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, he graduated from South Philadelphia High School. Joseph owned and operated Franco’s Arco Gas Station in South Philly until becoming a dealer at Bally’s Casino, where he retired as a Casino Supervisor for Tropicana after 22 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in The United States Air Force. Joseph was an active member of Holy Trinity Parish: St. James Church in Ventnor and St. Nicholas food bank of Atlantic City. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Annamarie (Bunny); his children Maria (Joe), Marc (Maria), Gina (Robert); sister Antoinette, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Anna, his son Joseph and brother Frank.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 30, 11am at the Holy Trinity Parish: St. James Church in Ventnor with viewing beginning at 9am. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Food Bank or any animal shelter of your choice
